Ranthambhore Park Information
The Ranthambhore National Park, which is a part of the much larger Ranthambhore Tiger
Reserve, lies in the Sawai Madhopur district of eastern Rajasthan. The Chambal River forms
a natural boundary of the Park towards the east, and on the eastern shore of Chambal lies
the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. To the northeast of the Park, flows the river –
Banas, a tributary of Chambal.
Across the river Banas, lies the Keladevi sanctuary, while the Sawai Man Singh sanctuary lies
to the south of the Park. Both these sanctuaries, like the National Park, are part of the
Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve. Today, the reserve spans over 1334 sq. km of area, of which
only 282 sq. km is the Ranthambhore National Park.
All the safaris in the Reserve are conducted inside the National Park. Few visitors go to the
Man Singh or Keladevi sanctuary.
Till the mid 20th century, the National park was a private hunting ground for the Maharaja of
Jaipur, but was nationalized soon after India gained independence. In 1972, when the Project
Tiger was launched, Ranthambhore was one of the “original 9” parks to be earmarked for
tiger conservation, under the Project Tiger.
Geologically, the region has elements of the Aravalli and Vindhya rock formations. As a result,
the terrain is hilly, with wide valleys and plateaus.
The park is open to tourists during October-June, and receives more than 50,000 visitors
every year from all over the world.

Day 01 Arrival Delhi

Day 02 In Delhi
Full day city tour of Old and New Delhi. Your tour of the 17th century old city includes the great mosque of Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk 'Moonlit Stree”, Old Delhi's main streets and colorful shopping bazaar; a drive past Raj Ghat, the cremation site of Mahatma Gandi. New Delhi sightseeing include the Humayun's Tomb, the precursore of the Taj Mahal; a drive down the spectacular Rajpath 'Kingsway" passing the India Gate, the President's House, and the House of Parliament. Enjoy a brief respite from the otherwise bustling city at Birla Mandir, a modern and colorful Hindu Temple.
Day 03 Delhi-Agra
Morning drive from Delhi to Agra. On arrival check-in at your Hotel. Afternoon enjoy a half day tour of Taj Mahal. Stroll around the lovely gardens before entering this intricately carved marble structure. Next visit to Agra Fort, seat of the Mughal dynasty in the 16th century, lies on the bend of the River Yamuna, almost in the heart of town. It has imposing gates, walls of red sandstone , and a moat. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 04 Drive Agra – Jaipur
Morning drive to Jaipur, en route visiting Fatehpur Sikri. Built by Akbar the Great in the 16th century to serve as the capital of his vast empire, Fatehpur Sikri was mysteriously abandoned 13 years later. Upon arrival Jaipur, check-in to your hotel and enjoy the balance on the day at leisure. Jaipur is an exuberance of color, dance, and song. The “Pink City" so called because its buildings are painted in the tones of an autumnal sunset, intersperses the play of red and pink with white borders and motifs. It's one of India's most well planned cities, with wide, straight avenues and lanes in a grid system. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Morning visit the Amber Fortress. Experience the majesty of a bygone ear, riding like royalty atop elegantly draped and painted elephants into the high mountain fortress. Later you will visit Jaipur City. Visit the Hawa Mahal or “Palace on Winds" one of the major landmarks of Jaipur, although it is actually little more than a façade. Continue to the City Palace, located in the heart of the old City, is a large complex of courtyard, buildings, and gardens, and also houses an interesting museum. Also visit the adjacent Jantar Mantar, the ancient astronomical observatory built by Raja Jai Singh. . Overnight stay at Hotel.

After lunch a visit to after noon safari by canter to the national park. Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, at the junction of the Aravalis and the Vindhyas, is a unique example of natural and historical richness, standing out conspicuously in the vast, arid and denuded tract of eastern Rajasthan.
Ranthambore national Park:
It spread over 400 sq kms of dry deciduous forest. A perfect natural habitat for tigers, and is set in the Aravalli and Vindhya hills, dotted with pavilions and dominated by a hilltop fort. Ranthambore was one of the hunting preserves of the former rulers of Jaipur and because of this the Maharajas ensured the environment was preserved and the forest and their inhabitants well protected. It has a good population of tiger and their prey species, and has been declared a "Project Tiger" reserve. Wildlife includes blue bull, black buck, spotted deer or cheetal, wild boar, a large variety of bird species and, if very lucky, the rarely seen leopard.)

Morning and evening safari by canter to The Ranthambore national Park and spend time tracking Tigers and viewing other wildlife attractions of the park.
